Cross Country

girls4x4tf17_smWelcome to Fall XC17!

I hope that all of you are excited as we near the end of the school year & are looking forward to a restful summer. I know that a lot of us are excited for the start of 2017 Cross Country season.

We have just completed a very successful “Spring” Cross Country season in which almost all of our XC runners that came out for Spring Cross Country have made significant progress in their running and are set to run much faster this Fall.

Last Fall saw the girls’ teams finish 2nd at the GVC Conference meet while the boys’ teams finished 5th (VB) & 5th (JVB). Tha varsity girls qualified for the State XC meet where they went on to place 6th as a team and had two runners earn All-State honors.

With a strong group of senior runners in 2017 and building off last year’s success, we are very excited for the start of next year’s season.

I hope that all prospective XC runners will take advantage of your free time during the summer and work towards improving your fitness level as part of our summer training group by investing as little as 2% of your summer time.

We will not have a Fall Cross Country meeting following the conclusion of the 2017 T&F season.

I will be unavailable following the end of the T&F season until Monday, June 19th. If you would like workout ideas to cover that time, please email me and I will get back to you when I am able.

If you are a new, incoming runner or have any questions about our program, please feel free to contact me by email at jimenez_tom@salkeiz.k12.or.us.

Looking forward to a highly successful 2017 XC season!
