Game Recap

Friday afternoon the Olympians traveled to Forest Grove to take on the Vikings. In the 50th minute, the Vikings took the lead 1-0 off a controversial goal. One of the two referees in a dual system blew their whistle for a foul, but the other referee assertively shouted, “play on.” The Olys froze for a few seconds, as the whistle had blown. “So much for playing to the whistle,” Coach Plechl said. “This is the second match in a row the referee had an impact on the outcome of the match. Referees are going to make mistakes throughout the match, but to have a serious impact is unacceptable.” The Vikings put away a second goal two minutes later, to secure the win. The Olympians move to 2-7-1 overall and 1-5 in league play. They travel to West Albany Tuesday evening to take on the Bulldogs at 7 PM.
