Meet Recap

The 2017 Sprague Olympians girls golf season got off to a great start on Monday, March 13th at Santiam Golf Club with a 2nd place finish in the SAY Golf High School Invitational. The event was hosted by the Salem Area Youth Golf Association.

The weather was close to miserable most of the round causing the scheduled 18 hole event to be cut to 9 holes.

Sophomore Quincy Beyrouty, freshman Reese Sherwood and junior Natalie Bock all earned top-10 performances, placing 3rd, 6th and 10th respectively. Beyrouty shot 44, Sherwood 50 and Bock a 55.

Sophomore Jackie Stuart and junior Taylor Monismith participated as well for the Olympians. Stuart shot a 65 and Monismith a 66.

Other schools participating in the event were Blanchet, Newport, North Marion, Regis, Salem Academy, South Salem, Stayton, Taft and West Salem.

The Olympians return to action on next Monday, the 20th of March in the first Greater Valley Conference tournament of the year. The tournament will be hosted by McMinnville High School and played at Michelbook Country Club.
